Biography
JOSEPH STEVEN, a SAG character actor, has appeared in television, film, and LA stage productions. He learned American Sign Language (after acquiring a Deaf roommate), which he performed with the Rudy Perez Dance Ensemble at Disney's RECAT in LA.
He has appeared in Man of La Mancha and, worked with the Children's Theatre Workshop (America's Presidents), in Greensleeve's Magic, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts' The House of Blue Leaves, and LA's The Oneness of God, Romeo & Juliet, and Tom Thumb.
Cast in film and television co-star roles as Homeless (Wanda at Large) or Hassidic (The District), Josef can also be seen as a Greenbeard in Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest, paranoid schizophrenic with Kevin Spacey's in K PAX, with the Rock in Scorpion King, and that almost recognizable fellow in TV series and commercials.
Chicago-bred, Joseph graduated from the U. of Illinois with a B.S. in Communications (1978).
